CCNP Switching

My notes from studying for the retired Cisco CCNP SWITCH exam, covering VLANs, STP, switch security, PoE, EtherChannel, FHRP, and high availability.

I wrote these notes while studying for the Cisco CCNP SWITCH exam in November 2017, and I originally published them on my GitHub. They cover the Layer 2 side of the retired Routing and Switching track, including VLANs and VTP, the Spanning Tree Protocol family, switch security features, PoE, EtherChannel, first-hop redundancy protocols, and switch virtualization.

Cisco retired the CCNP Routing and Switching track in February 2020 and replaced it with CCNP Enterprise. I have kept these pages close to how I first wrote them, with only light formatting cleanup. Each page carries the date I wrote it, and the command output comes from the Catalyst switches and IOS versions I had in the lab at the time. The underlying Layer 2 concepts still apply to modern campus networks.
