Notes from studying for the Cisco CCIE Data Center v3.0 lab, covering NX-OS, spanning tree, routing, vPC, multicast, and VXLAN BGP EVPN.
I wrote these notes between April and August 2022 while practicing toward the Cisco CCIE Data Center v3.0 practical exam, and I originally published them on smenode.com. They follow the blueprint of that era, starting with VLANs, trunking, and the NX-OS command line, moving through spanning tree, OSPF, BGP, and IS-IS on Nexus, then through port-channel and virtual port channel, first hop redundancy, and IP multicast, and finishing with the VXLAN fabric topics: flood and learn, BGP EVPN as a control plane, integrated route and bridge, and external connectivity.
Most pages end with a workshop section, which is the lab I built to practice the topic rather than a worked exercise for a reader.

I have kept these pages close to how I first wrote them, with only formatting cleanup. Each page carries the date I wrote it, and the command output comes from the Nexus platforms and NX-OS versions I was working with at the time. Read them as a record of how I learned the material rather than as current exam preparation, because platform names, software versions, and command syntax have moved on since.
